How the Duchess of Cambridge Gave Birth Naturally

Rumor has it that the Duchess of Cambridge wanted a homebirth, but the Queen would not have any part of it. This morning Kate gave birth naturally to a healthy baby girl! What do you do to have a natural birth in the hospital? Here are 5 things Kate did to help her reach her goal.

1. She did not depend on any given due dates.

When things were all said and done, Kate went 9 days past her estimated due date. Avoiding a medical induction means avoiding a list of preventable medical interventions that often will follow.

2. She did her best not to allow others to have expectations about her birth.

There is nothing like going past that dreaded date and hearing “are we there yet?” I can’t imagine being famous! When asked by the press of her due date she would say around late April. Shoulda said early May, Kate!

3. She went to the hospital ready to push.

Pushing or not, Kate’s precious baby girl arrived just hours after Kate arrived to the hospital. Kate was reported to check into the hospital around six in the morning and baby girl made an appearance at 8:34 a.m.

4. She had support during her labor and birth.

The tabloids are making it seem that she didn’t have support from the Queen. Let’s be clear, Kate did not do this alone. Prince charming was by her side every step of the way.

5. She believed in her body’s ability to birth.

The fact that the Duchess even desired a homebirth says that she knew she could do it! The power of affirmation goes a long way. If a woman is allowed to labor without intervention, or other seeds of doubt from spectators, amazing things can happen.
